We believe in lifelong learning as a path towards opportunity and fulfillment. As individuals increase their literacy and basic skills they are able to secure better jobs, manage their personal lives, advocate for themselves, enhance their parenting skills, and contribute more to their community. In short, they improve the quality of their lives and communities.
1. Have fun and learn lots!
2. Don’t be shy. Everyone in class participates.
3. Don’t be afraid to take risks and make mistakes. That’s how we all learn!
4. Ask for help when you don’t know or understand something. Your teachers and classmates will help you.
5. Be respectful and kind to everyone in class.
6. If you need to go to the restroom, walk around, drink something, just do it!
7. Come to class as often as you can. Call, text or email Kathy and Paul if you can’t come to class. Call or text only between 8 AM and 8 PM please!
8. Come to class on time. Call, text or email Kathy and Paul if you will be late. Call or text only between 8 AM and 8 PM please!
9. Do as much home practice as you can. Two hours a week isn’t much time to learn English. You will learn more English faster if you study at home too.
10. Tell Kathy or Paul if you need one-to-one help with anything you need to do in English. We are happy to help you outside of class.
