We want to help you check the truth of information you hear. You may hear it on TV, radio, the Internet, social media or from a friend. Don’t believe everything you hear. Be suspicious. Ask yourself if it sounds true or does it sound wrong or false.

FAILURE TO WEAR A MASK IS BREAKING THE LAW. IT CAN BE PUNISHABLE BY FINE, IMPRISONMENT, OR BOTH.
What is the new Health Order about masks?
You must wear masks before you:
· Go to indoor place besides your home. Examples: grocery stores, laundromats, work offices, post office.
· Go to any outdoor work sites, construction sites, taxis/rideshares, or buses.
· When outdoors if you can’t stay a six-foot away from another person at all times.
Examples: Farmer’s market, pumping gas, drive thru restaurants, carry out food pickup, etc.
Remember: You should remain home except for important reasons. You must use social and physical distancing of six feet when outside of your home.

No Sew Face Masks
Health professionals suggest wearing cloth face masks in public (such as the grocery store). Using fabric face masks will help slow the spread of disease in our community.

What is the Best Fabric for Homemade Face Masks?

CanvasMost online classes at SRJC use the cloud-based learning platform Canvas. If you have enrolled in a class, you already have an account set up.
Using your SRJC Student ID Number and SRJC PIN Code, you can log into Canvas from any page on the JC website, under the "LOGIN" button at the top of every page.

What is the SRJC Student Emergency Grant?
This grant is for students because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Examples of support are: loss of employment, housing, food, technology, course materials, child care, and healthcare needs.
Students will be sent an email if you get the grant.
How will I get the money?
The SRJC Financial Aid Office will send funds in the amount of $500 if you are eligible. Your application must be processed and approved. The Financial Aid Office will contact you on how to set up the transfer of funds.
Am I Eligibile?
You were enrolled in at least one face-to-face course before March 13, 2020.
You must be currently enrolled in at least 3 credits or in non-credit courses for the Spring 2020 semester.
High school students enrolled at SRJC are not eligible.
If you have received an emergency grant in the spring semester, you are not eligible.
Application
Read the directions carefully. Follow the steps that apply to you.
If you meet ALL of these requirements:
a. Enrolled in at least 3 credit units
b. Have a US social security number, and
c. Have a high school diploma/GED
Please complete the following two steps:
Complete the SRJC COVID-19 Student Emergency CARE Grant application
You will be receiving federal funds. You must complete the 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have not completed a FAFSA go to fafsa.gov. Complete your application. This will help your grant funds are not delayed.
If you meet at least one of the following:
a. Do not have a US social security
b. Do not possess a high school diploma/GED
c. Only enrolled in non-credit courses

SRJC Student Laptop Loan FormThe goal of the Laptop Loan Program is to provide laptops or tablet computers to students to increase their access to education in support of SRJC's mission to offer opportunities to our diverse population of learners.

Assistance from the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund is available to:

Housing and Critical Family Needs assistance is provided in the form of grants that are paid directly to the supplier of services, such as a landlord or medical equipment provider.
Please have the following documents ready:
California Driver's License / Valid California Photo Identification Card (Bring the original)
Social Security cards of all who live in the household (Bring the originals)
Proof of income for all household members (Bring the originals)
Lease Agreement or Rental agreement is needed for the process of your application. (Bring original document)
Rental Assistance - You must provide the Season of Sharing program with a letter from the landlord or leasing agent that states the amount of rent past due or the deposit required. This must be on letterhead that has the address and phone number of the landlord.
Critical Family Need - Documentation showing an unexpected financial hardship (medical, loss of job, home repair, etc.)
A letter is required from you explaining the events that lead up to this situation and why you need help. If you have any receipts for expenses or documents showing your hardships make sure you bring them in to review.
Please gather all the above items before coming in. Not having all the required documentation only prolongs the process. We will not accept partial documentation.
Please Note:
You must have minor children, someone in the household who is disabled or over 60 years of age.
You will be required to prove that you will be able to pay your rent the months following the one in which you receive assistance.
If you have received assistance from SOS in the past, you may not receive additional assistance for at least five years.
