2006 Tip #17:
Thankful

The day after.  How are we doing?

Full of thanks, or just plain full?

Hoping we all had a good blend of both yesterday.

Thanksgiving day is my favorite holiday because it brings a positive focus on all that is good in our lives, all we are lucky to have.

Now--wishing us well in the final stretches of 2006…

As we move deeper into the holiday season and prepare for the new year, I hear a voice saying “everything in moderation.”  While I think this is good advice as far as eating and snacking and enjoying the bounty and gifts of the season, I know there are exceptions to this adage.  Why not go all out towards meeting your personal or professional goals?  If you are passionate about something-- whether at work or in your community or in pursing your personal health and personal goals—why not channel the positive energy of those ideas and feelings to make a positive difference in our part of this big, wide world?

Moderation can be helpful during this season of celebration and delicious foods and tasty drinks, in sampling and enjoying everything that’s offered with balance—so we’re not overeating and drinking.

10 pounds.  An article from a teachers magazine recently observed that a large number of Americans gain 10 lbs over the holidays.  Can we avoid unwanted pounds this year so we don’t have to spend so much of 2007 getting rid of those extras?  What are your ideas for staying in some balance over the next 5 weeks?

“Active.com” has some great tips.  Log on (www.active.com) and check them out.  Better yet, subscribe and get regular inspiration and good strategies!  I will post to you two good articles on point in the most recent issue.

Through it all, let’s enjoy!  Let’s stay well!  Let’s continue to be thankful in all we have!
