As a life sciences teacher, coach and athlete, Senator Torlakson offers personal insights, inspiration and suggestions for helping us all achieve health and fitness in our lives through his periodic Torlakson’s Tips.
One of our greatest challenges is linking our knowledge with action. As we examine our health and set goals, as we read and share more about the facts and science of nutrition and exercise, how do we best channel that information and desire into actions that match?
To help us transform our goals into actions it is advantageous from time to time to connect to people who in various ways share some of our goals.
May is Fitness Month. Let’s take advantage of the many opportunities to celebrate and focus on our health!
Here are useful information and event web links:

Tiffany is a coordinator of EBRPD’s outdoor programs. Another great program during May is hiking with their “May Marathon” walk or run – 26 miles of their wonderful trails during the month and earn a t-shirt, pin and pedometer! They also have the Trails Challenge between now and the end of the year. Do 5 out of the 20 suggested hikes. Something for everyone, at any level of conditioning.
