Houston's Bus System Gives Parents a Free Ride -- to the Library

Houston mass-transit system Metro has partnered with St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities to offer books and free bus passes to parents of young children. The bus passes are good for a trip to the local public library. One of the most difficult problems in adult and family literacy is simply getting people who need help to the places where they can receive it, and giving bus passes away to promote literacy is a creative, generous idea.
