Staff
Paul Heavenridge (Executive Director) has an extensive background in educational technology design and delivery. As an instructional designer, he is most excited about Web based delivery of literacy material to learners in multiple learning styles through hypermedia.
Maxine (Max) Ferman (Director of Educational Technology/Ar t Director) is an award winning teacher and artist. She has worked as Web Developer, Educator, Curriculum Developer, Information Architect. Max has designed and developed web based curriculum and taught on a K-12 through adult level at a variety of Colleges, Universities including UC-Berkeley extension and SFSU.
Dr. Carole Talan (Director of Training and Programs) is a Literacy Specialist retired in 2004 from the California State Library and has dedicated over 25 years to working in the fields of adult and family literacy. A former teacher and college professor and an internationally recognized literacy administrator and trainer, Dr. Talan has published numerous books, curriculum guides and articles about literacy, coordinated literacy research, and produced three highly successful documentary short films on adult literacy.
